Beautiful Baby Girl

Krista and I are excited to announce the birth of our baby girl. Caroline Reed McIntosh was born at 4:37 PM on October 15, 2009. She weighed 6 pounds 9 oz an was 19 3/4 inches long. She's the center of our world and we see God every time we look in her eyes.

She's 7 weeks old, and got to see her first snow this weekend. She spent a nice relaxing Sunday morning with her Dad at the Amber Restaurant. No gravy just yet, but soon come. Caroline is such a blessing, and we think she's simply beautiful. She's starting to smile, growl and has her command cry down to a science. We can't wait to be home with her for Christmas.

6 Weeks Old: Her First Thanksgiving

6 Weeks into the world, and she's getting sweeter with every passing day. She's starting to let mom and dad sleep a few hours in a row, and we're getting better at predicting her next moves (thanks to Krista). She had a blast at Thanksgiving, and got to meet lots of new family.

Week 5: A Busy Week With Family

We shuttled Caroline around this week and weekend, as she was wanted to see some family. We had a great weekend with Krista's family, and she spent the week with Nonnie and Pop. Her daddy missed her while in Alabama, but glad to have her back in his arms. It was a great weekend, and we are looking forward to Thanksgiving week.

We went over to Mamaw's for a relaxing Saturday. She got to hold Caroline for a couple hours and shared a couple times with Zoe, Betty and Mary.

Aunt Kara came into town to kiss on Caroline.

One Month, my how she's grown

One month into her life; Caroline has grown a vertical inch and put on 2+ pounds. She had a great visit to the Doctor today. Sleeping through the night better, and keeps stealing her daddy's heart. I had to spend last week in Boulder, and I came home to a different baby. We had a great visit with Papaw this weekend. He talked to her non-stop and even sang to her for a few minutes. I think he held her for a solid hour and only gave her up because we had to leave for lunch. We're lucky to have him in her life.

Aunt Jessica drove in from Nashville for a squeeze.
Turns out she loves bath time.

Papaw talking /singing to her. Caroline entranced by him.
I was letting Krista put up the Christmas decor, and we fell asleep.
She's amazing. Early AM in her mom's lap.

Week 3: A Trip to Mamaws

Caroline was in the right mood, so we made a quick trip out to Mamaw's. We couldn't tell her we were coming because she would have made us a feast. We dropped in and surprised her. She held baby Caroline the whole time...Till her papa came over (Reed's grandfather name). Reed promptly stole Krista and I so we could come over to his place and set "Sweet Caroline" as his ringer on his cell phone.

Mamaw holding Caroline. She'll be eating Sunday dinner over there in no time. 95 years young and 3 weeks old. 2 great girls.
Her typical restful mid-day nap.

A morning full of tears and she finally smiles.

Caroline Week 2

Week 2 came and went, and I was blessed to be able to spend some time at home with the girls. While Krista might debate whether or not I took "vacation", it was nice to be with them as we settle into our new life. Caroline is restful during the day and wide awake (eyes and lungs open) at night. She's a beautiful girl, and we're loving every moment with her.
Caroline's first visit to Uncle Craig's Firearm Store. Preparing to defend her social security and college fund from the government...
Look closely and you'll see her smile.
Caroline and her mom, soothing in the sun.
The little one, getting rid of a little jaundice.
We never know what will keep her quiet, but this worked for a few minutes.

A few Videos of Caroline

Caroline's smile. Her daddy enjoys her smiles, even at 2AM.

Her first few moments in this world. Mom said no video during the labor, so here's the next closest thing.

Our first voluntary outing.

Caroline celebrated her first voluntary outing visiting her Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother. There was no shortage of open arms to hold this baby girl, and she was a good girl for her Great Grandparents.

Her Great GREAT Grandfather. One of those is an adjective.

Two Classy Ladies.

Into her 2nd Week

She's 1 week and 2 days old today.  Unpredictable at best with her sleep schedule, but we are learning how to keep her happy.  All we have to do is stay awake and that seems to make her comfortable.  She's a true blessing and she's shaped our world.

Caroline's First Week

Friends and Family.
Krista and I have officially welcomed our beautiful baby girl to the world. On Thursday, October 15th at 4:37PM Caroline Reed McIntosh came into this world, and gave us the biggest blessing we've ever shared. She's perfect in every way, from her tiny fingers to her mischevious smile when she knows mom and dad need some sleep and she's wide awake. She came into the world at 6lbs 9oz, and 19 1/4 in. Every new thing she does shapes our world. Thanks to everyone for the messages and calls. We are very blessed to have such strong support.

38 Weeks. A few maternity shots before the baby comes.

38 Weeks and likely just a few more to go before we get to welcome Caroline into the world. According to our Doctors visits, everything is going according to plan. Our bags are packed. Caroline's dad is working from the Knoxville office for a few weeks in preparation for her arrival, and looking forward to a few weeks off upon her arrival. Krista let me take some maternity pics of her and they turned out perfect. She's truly glowing.

Krista Approaching 36 Weeks.

We've had a great month. Baby showers, final days on the lake, football on the back deck and finalizing the nursery. Krista is doing great, uncomfortable most of the time and the baby is trying to kick and punch her way out at 10:30PM, 3:30AM, etc... It's getting more real every day, and we just can't wait. If you play the video, first scroll down to the bottom and pause the music player so you can hear the video music.

Approaching 30 Weeks... Soon come.

We are counting down, and just entered Week 30. Probably the last work trip we'll be able to take together. Caroline is simply determined to make her mom uncomfortable in the car for long trips. Got to squeeze in a few relaxing dinners during a work trip to Pensacola.
The babies room is coming together nicely. We are in the middle of her showers and are amazed at the generosity our friends and family show. Her proud papa likes to sit and watch Krista's belly and feel his baby girl wiggle, punch and kick her mom. We think that she gits fussy before Krista goes to bed, and hope it's not an indication of her plan for once she gets into the real world.

We're counting the weeks, and looking forward to counting the days.

After dinner at Hemingway's, perfect scene and subject.

Beautiful...

People are finally starting to notice her bump.

On the pier.

The nooks are starting to fill up.

The nursery is taking shape, just needs a little one.

Merf did a great job on the painting. And Caroline's mom did a great job with the room.

All pink.......Everything.

Papaw is happy he can finally see Krista's belly. He loves my girls.

30 Weeks!
